The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, says the number of unemployed Nigerians rose from 11.19 million as at the end of the third quarter of 2016 to 11.55 million in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Millions of Nigerians are poor and unemployed.
If you are looking for what has changed in the newspapers you can confirm that the only change has been the one you didn’t expect. Things are getting worst.
Nigerians are losing jobs daily.
The jobless problem in Nigeria is here to stay, nothing will change for a long time.
I use to think going to school will get me a job. I spent ten years trying to be a professor. People go to Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage. I went to Harvard.
This is what I have learnt.
Donald Trump will not “dash Americans” his $4,000,000,000.
Burahi will not be president when my daughter turns 15.
The last Job application received by my sister ended up in a cabinet. RIP.
You can lose your job today.
Now, you may be asking, What is the solution then?
What is the solution if things won’t get better for everybody in Nigeria?
When Things Don’t Get Better
You need to separate yourself from the “everybody economy”
You have to make yourself more valuable.
Attain valuable skillset and find a way to increase your value to the world.
You have to make yourself more valuable in the marketplace otherwise you will be like everybody in Nigeria. You will become the statistics.
If you don’t bring your value, your solution, your talent, you are going to be in trouble for years to come.
Unemployment is here to stay, do not wait for the government to change anything.
